There's a beauty about Hobart that can't be found in many other cities. Don’t be tricked by the small scale of Hobart, there’s so much here for the curious visitor. When in Hobart, you can have early morning walks with sand between your toes, wander the city streets, head to a mountain summit with sensational views and be back in time for cocktails on the waterfront. TRAVEL INFORMATION

Flights

Hobart International Airport is the gateway to the lower South Island of Hobart. Located only 14 minutes from the Hotel, the Hobart International Airport services the region with domestic and international flights operated by Qantas, Virgin Australia, Air New Zealand and Link. With Air New Zealand, you can fly non-stop to and from Hobart in under four hours. Travelling through Auckland, you can fly direct to Christchurch, New York, Los Angeles, San Francisco, Honolulu, Chicago and Houston. 

What you will need to enter Tasmania

Tasmania is a state in the Commonwealth of Australia. To enter Tasmania from outside of Australia, your passport must be valid. Check its expiry date to make sure it meets the rules for acceptable travel documents.

If you are not an Australian citizen, you may need to apply for a visa. Please check online for the visa requirements to enter Tasmania, Australia from your country.

Travel Insurance

ARMA strongly recommends that all attendees have travel insurance. Some visa categories require you to hold insurance as a condition of your visa. Before you buy travel insurance, we recommend you check what cover it provides.  

Hotel Transfers

It is very easy to get to the conference hotel from the airport with a bus, taxi or uber but if you would prefer a private transfer, please contact ARMA and we can assist with recommendations.

Weather

Temperatures during winter in Hobart usually range from 5-8°C in the day time. The nights are often cold and frosty with the temperature dropping to -2°C on cold nights. The days are short and crisp, but provide incredible blue skies and fresh crisp mornings. Snowfall is sporadic throughout the season and each mountain will receive a different amount of snowfall due to the direction they face.

Currency

Australian Dollar is the currency and internationals will be able to exchange money at the hotel reception or quite safely at local banks or exchange shops.
