The Faculty of the Built Environment is very pleased to be able to host this exhibition in partnership with the Association of Rotational Moulders Australasia (ARMA) during Sydney Design 09.  It is an exhibition that not only shows the work of some well known designers but seeks also to draw attention to the manufacturing process.  In doing so it shows the potential for innovation when manufacturing expertise meets new challenges presented by designers. The imaginative playful functional and refined forms in this collection have successfully pushed the boundaries of the rotational moulding process.  This is the first time this unique collection has been shown in Sydney.   

For us at the FBE and particularly for the Industrial Design Program the opportunity to host the exhibition has been a catalyst for fruitful connection with the local rotational moulding industry.  ARMA has promoted a student design competition and has facilitated opportunities for factory visits where students have learned about the process and gained a better understanding of the industry and design possibilities.
